Description
Seeks to help reduce extreme poverty through group money lending. Specifically, it hopes to:
  • Increase income of the poor by financing self- employment activities
  • Mobilize savings among the poor for emergency purposes Reduce the independence of the poor on usurious money lenders
  • Help reduce rural- urban migration through generating local community growth
  • Promote the values of education and responsible parenthood amongst ASHI members and the virtues of unity, discipline, hard work and perseverance
  • Help establish the Grameen replicating organization and give assistance to them through training
