NCRFW Chair Myrna T. The APEC leaders proposed viable alternatives to cope with the financial crisis affecting the world's economies.

National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW) Executive Director Emmeline L. The National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW) is now on-air via "Tinig Ng Kababaihan," the first radio program of the Commission in partnership with the Bureau of Broadcast Services. The radio program airs through DZRB Radyo Ng Bayan 738 Khz every second and last Friday of the month. NCRFW Executive Director Emmeline L. Verzosa talks about Gender and Development (GAD) basic concepts, GAD planning and budgeting, and Gender Mainstreaming during the Regional Gender and Development Mainstreaming Seminar organized by the Department of Finance GAD Focal Systems and the Women’s Movement For An Empowered Nation, Inc held last May 22, 2009 at the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) XIII Regional Office in Cebu City. Participants of the seminar were from BIR XIII, Bureau of Customs, Bureau of Local Government Finance and local government employees of Cebu City.

03 June 2009, MANILA - Ten Filipino families lose their mothers, sisters, wives or friends daily due to cervical cancer. Data from the Philippine Cancer Society revealed that cervical cancer is the second killer disease among Filipino women as it continues to claim the lives of 10 Filipino women everyday.

The Wellness Series Seminar hosted by Datin Zara Jane Juan of the Royal Order of Sulu and Saba (right) visited the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women recently to talk about "wellness in body, spirit, environment and economics for peace and nation building." The event was supported by Welch's 100% Grape Juice, Shakey's Restaurant, Philippine Heart Center, Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine, Green Pen Network, Sysu International, Ceaco and Sailing for Peace.
